York City striker Richard Brodie has been voted as the 'E.ON Player of the Round' following his performance for the Minstermen in their victory over Crewe Alexandra.

The 22-year-old hit the first and third goals of City's 3-2 victory over the League Two outfit at Kitkat Crescent, to set up a Second Round Proper tie with Conference Premier rivals Cambridge United.

Also an England C international, who played in their victory over Poland U23 last week, Brodie received 54 per cent of the vote to secure the award and will now receive an 'E.ON Player of the Round' trophy and two VIP tickets to this season's FA Cup Final which will take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 15 May 2010.

Brodie beat off competition from Bath City's Chris Holland (19 per cent), Northwich Victoria's Matt Bailey (18 per cent), Ali Chabaan of Staines Town (4 per cent) and Kettering Town's Exodus Geohaghon (4 per cent).

A five-strong panel, which includes FA Cup hero, Ricky George, will nominate their candidates after each round (up to and including the Semi-Final) and you can vote for your favourite on TheFA.com.
