Blackpool defender arrives on loan
Acting Cheltenham Town manager John Schofield has added to his squad with the capture of young Blackpool central defender Ashley Eastham on an initial one month loan.
Ashley, 18, is a product of the Blackpool youth system and signed a professional deal with the Seasiders back in May.
The 6ft 3ins centre back has made one substitute appearance in the Championship this season but made his first start for Blackpool in the 4-3 Carling Cup second round defeat to Stoke City.
He also joined Conference North club Hyde United earlier in the season for a loan spell and earned highly positive reviews for his performances.
John Schofield said of his new signing: "It's great to have a bright young prospect from a Championship club made available to us and I would like to thank Ian Holloway and all his staff at Blackpool for helping to make this happen.
"It's another chance for us to link up with a club that has a bigger pool of players available.
"Ashley is a robust, no-nonsense central defender and hopefully we can offer him some first team experience for the next stage of his development as a player.
"He will help to create some competition for places among the squad and hopefully we will be able to add another player before the 5pm deadline today as well."
