Best fuck!ng game on the PS2. Literally
I was in N4g a few few weeks ago reading a thread about underrated games and I just read that a lot of people was mentioning "Beyond Good & Evil". Then I went to google to look for some info and watch some videos on youtube and decided to give the game a try.
I bought the game on ebay a few days ago and then I got it in the mail a few days later and started to playing it on my 60GB PS3. In the first 30 minutes playing the game I thought: "Seriously, this is the game everybody on N4G is saying that it is the most underrated? Are these people nuts?"
But I continued playing and to my surprise I couldn't stop because it was so good! This game have so many gameplay elements it's incredible. You have like shoot em up sections(think Raiden III), you have hack & slash sections(think God of War), exploration(think Zelda), racing(think Wave Race) and many more.
Sound - the soundtrack of this this game shines. You just need to hear it to understand how well made it is.
Graphics - are like one of the best of the PS2 with progressive-Scan support and everything. The game looks splendid.
Control - Really easy to pick up and play with various elements of gameplay that work really well with the button set-up.
Story - Really well made, not your usual Army man or Chosen one that saves the world. This story is about a reporter in a galaxy far far away that took care of some orphans that the war left behind. The game's based around the jobs you take to gain money to raise them.
Conclusion?
This is one of the best games I have played in my life and I played it very late. Like right now. Wednesday, May 20, 2009. And please, believe me when I'm say to play this game! I know I sound like a crazy man but the game deserves all I have said about it.
Here is a list of all the games I have and you'll see that I have over a hundred of them and still think that Beyond Good & Evil is way too underrated. Even the GamePro review doesn't do justice to the game.

Innovative, good-looking game
Although it's short, Beyond Good & Evil ranks as one of my favorite PS2 games. It's a shame that more people haven't played this one. If only they had titled it something different...

good, but
beyond good and evil was a great game, the story was one of the best that i'd seen in a long time, and the gameplay of the story was something that you don't see that often, and surprisingly worked well for something other than pokemon snap. the only flaws his game were repatition and time. every monster was the samething over and over again, you only rarely saw a new creature, evey boss fight was the same thing, and it was always the same objective, find the government breaking the law and take a picture of it. this got really boring after a while. the second thing was the game was really short, i beat it in three days, it only had about five places to explore and didn't have good enough rewards for me to accomplish the side tasks. i think though, that this game needs a sequal and if they can put more diversity and length into it that it would easily be one of the best games that year.

A beautiful game
The game Beyond Good and Evil is a terrific game, with few flaws. It was overlooked terribly when first realized, even thought every gaming magaizine there was said the game was awesome. Now at only $20.00 dollars this game is literally a steal. You play as Jade a reporter who joins a rebellion group called, "IRIS". This game is beautiful, and should be played by every gamer.
