Marston's, the brewer of great British beers like Marston's Pedigree, has signed a deal with Cambridge United to supply beer at the historic Abbey Stadium.

The deal, which will also see Marston's sponsoring the South Stand from the beginning of the season, means Cambridge United supporters will be able to enjoy great beer on home ground.

Marston's Beer Company's Director of Free Trade Phil Barnett said, "We are delighted to add Cambridge United to our list of iconic sports venues across the country. We are looking forward to working closely together over the next ten years."

Cambridge United will join other teams also sponsored by Marston's including Everton, Derby County, Leicester City, Notts County, Walsall FC and Sheffield United as part of the company's sports grounds strategy.

The bar will be serving creamy Marston's Smooth from the start of this season, and the stand will be called the Marston's Smooth stand.

Cambridge United's General Manager Heather Wilkanowski said, "Cambridge United are delighted with the partnership that has been agreed between the club and Marston's.

"It is financially one of the biggest in the club's history and with Marston's already working with some very prestigious football clubs, they will be bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge from other sports grounds.

"Everybody at Cambridge United would like to thank Marston's for their sponsorship and we are looking forward to working on a long term basis with them."
