Four Sought in Russian Train Bombing

December 3, 2009 - 10:03 AM | by: Dana Lewis

Almost one week after the Russian high speed train the Nevsky Express was derailed between Moscow and St. Petersburg in what authorities are calling a terrorist attack, Transport police today released sketches of four possible suspect including a woman.

Russian Security Services say the train was bombed with 14 pounds of explosives places under the tracks killing 26 people and wounding 100. The four suspects allegedly rented a house in a nearby village and police suspect they may have watched trains coming and going to establish schedules and may have planted the explosives.

A Chechen war lord has claimed responsibility for the attack and warned there will be more.

Russian Government sources say that claim is being taken seriously.

Today Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin told a National phone in show the terrorist threat is significant. "Myself and my colleagues have always said the threat is quite large" he stated. He pledged to take tough action. And Putin also called on the Russian public to be more vigilant and for security services to upgrade their work.

russians will never be allies in war on terror. They send weapons to all undemocratic and pro -terror regimes like Iran. But it can happen as in the past that Russians will be terror victims themselfs and ask the West to help

Your an idiot. How dare you say that innocent people dying is justice for your idiotic conspiracy theories. Maybe the 3,000 people who died during Sept. 11th was justice for us aiding Pakistan to create the Taliban which harbored al-qaeda. Get your facts straight before you dishonor the dead.

i was born/raised in Russia 1972 thru 1992 (exactly 20 years), in NewYork, USa since then. Not Russian ethnically (Jewish), but spendign 20 years + all relatives down to grandgrandgrangrandgrand parents (many generations) being in Russia is something that makes us all virtual Russians. Hate to say this but, not everything that Empire & Communists did was bad. We know their economic system was a faiulure, we know it was Totalitarian. But you know what else? people owning weapons was unheard of. Drugs was unheard of, No AIDS, not terror. I know the solution Soviets used also resulted in damaged Human Rights, but MAYBE SOMETIMES EXTEREMSE ARE NECESSARY? Maybe researching the family of that guy who blew up a dozen people and EXECUTING him withou tmuch waste on attorneys and court, and blocking his family from entering country and putting them on government watch is necessary. No matter how 'anit human rights" it sounds. Look at Chinese. They married Capitalist Economy + Government COntrol of large industries,, finances, etc and now having fun soon to be Superpower#2 He who was last in the pats might become first in future, if he has brains and learns from mistakes. CHinese have learned Communist economy is crap, but they also learned Government control over a large diverse country is needed. Therefore terorist find their DEATH in China quick. Not too many people dare to blow up stuff in CHina. In strange times, we need strange methods and a little Police & FBI "brutality" would help. I'd rather deal with brutal Police or FBI, than being blow up while flying to Califonia.

What? Russians attacked by terrorists? I thought if they co-operate and help Iran build nukes that they would be allowed to live while others die? The bomb was probably made in Iran! Justice? I think so!

If countries want these kind of events to stop, then they must face the fact that the only thing these people understand is terror, so you take terror to the terrorist. Once you find a person that is responsible for a terrorist attack, you do a family background check on them. Then you go get their family and execute both sides of the family two generations back. You eliminate their name from the past and the future.

Contemporary terrorism in Russia is not a manifestation of any popular Chechen separatist feeling. It is Wahhabi Muslim terrorist aggression bankrolled by the same Arabs who bankroll al-Qa'ida and Shabaab. Certainly all civilized countries should cooperate in the destruction of these brain-dead Islamists.

Russia makes me suspicious. All this stuff could of been ordered by the Kremlin. Oh I forgot- news networks don't report on Russian State Sponsored Terrorism. Google it. Crazy what the Russians have done to their own people. Most notable, the Russian Apartment Bombings.
