You won’t get much of an argument that Anze Kopitar is the king of Slovenian hockey, especially since he’s stormed out to the league scoring lead with 10 goals and 21 points in 12 games.

Losing Daniel Sedin for up to six weeks with a broken foot is definitely bad news for the Vancouver Canucks, but could turn out to be a terrific development for his brother Henrik – assuming the twins have money on which one ends his NHL career with more points.

Philly may be No. 1, but with a quick 2-0 start to the season, Colorado has knocked off two big contenders to kick off 2009-10.

OK, let’s not get crazy, but let’s also give fans of the Colorado Avalanche a chance to be a little excited here.
A 2-0 start probably isn’t indicative of how the Avs will fare this season, especially with the team set to play 11 of its next 13 on the road.

It’s hard to imagine a team finishing with a franchise-record 51 wins and the league’s fifth-best record being in the midst of a downer, but that’s where the Devils are heading into the playoffs.
