The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

If you like Zelda—if what makes Zelda good for you is the Zelda-y stuff that’s always in these Zelda games—then you’re going to find more of it here.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes

I’ll take season 1 of Clone Wars over anything after Empire. I only wish I could say the same for its first big adventure game.

Bayonetta is perfect. She moves perfect, she attacks perfect, she controls perfect, and she looks perfect.

Dante's Inferno

Sure, there’s no graphic mingling of naughty bits in Dante’s trip through the nine circles of Hell, but the sexuality in the Lust level is about as subtle as a porn star’s mustache.

Dark Void

Dark Void may be one of the quieter titles churning through Capcom’s 2009 release machine, but it’s not for lack of capable potency.

Having so many game titles pushed to 2010 was...

Good. I'm too swamped with games right now!
Good. I'll be too poor due to the holidays!
Bad. The game(s) I was waiting for are now farther away!
Bad. Now 2010 is going to be too overloaded!
Whatever. Nothing I cared about was delayed, to be honest.

MX vs. ATV: Reflex

We end the year that was 2009 with another set of dual covers for our December issue. First, we step back into the darkness of Darksiders, as Dave gets an extended look at this upcoming Xbox 360 and PS3 release from THQ, and then sits down with developer Vigil Games to talk about the title's creation. Then Dave pulls double-duty as he hits the dirt with Reflex: MX vs ATV, only stopping long enough from his review of the game to get some time trackside with Reflex's lead technical designer Elliot Olsen. From there, we review New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, and Borderlands, investigate the world of Alan Wake, go under the ocean with BioShock 2, and much, much more.
