Hi everybody,

I would like to propose a game to you.

Sometimes in real life we feel that a certain song exactly matches what we think or feel in that moment. I am asking to myself if it is possible to carry on a conversation based only on songs’ lyrics.

So I opened this thread and I propose that everyone is posting here does this only using quotations from songs. There are no other rules, but obviously at the end of the post we need to cite the song’s title and singer/author. If the song isn’t in English, it will be reported in the original language + English translation.

It’s a sort of “lyrics remixing”!

So, I start with the song that I have in my head since I knew this site:

I’ve nothing much to offer

There’s nothing much to take

I’m an absolute beginner

And I’m absolutely sane

David Bowie – Absolute Beginners

I can't relax, cause I haven't done a thing,

And I can't do a thing cause I can't relax.

Comsat Angels - Independence Day

Relax, don't do it :-)

Frankie Goes To Hollywood

You gotta be cool relax, get hip

Get on your tracks.

Queen - Crazy little thing called love (modified) :-)

Strange is your language and I have no decoder

Why don't you make your intentions clear

With eyes to the sun and your mouth to the soda

Saying, "Tell me the truth, you got nothing to fear"

Stop staring at me like a bird of prey

I'm all mixed up, I got nothing to say

I don't remember

I don't remember

I don't remember - Peter Gabriel

I never loved nobody fully

Always one foot on the ground

And by protecting my heart truly

I got lost in the sounds.

"Fidelity" - Regina Spektor

I look around at a beautiful life

Been the upper-side of down

Been the inside of out

But we breathe

We breathe

I wanna breeze and an open mind

I wanna swim in the ocean

Wanna take my time for me

All me

So maybe tomorrow

I'll find my way home

So maybe tomorrow

I'll find my way home

"Maybe Tomorrow" - Stereophonics

We all know

that people are the same

wherever you go.

There is good and bad

in everyone___

We learn to live

we learn to give each other

What we need to survive

together alive

Paul Mc Cartney - Ebony and Ivory

Happy talk, keep talkin' happy talk,

Talk about things you'd like to do.

You got to have a dream,

If you don't have a dream,

How you gonna have a dream come true?

"Happy Talk" - Captain Sensible

(originally from South Pacific by Rodgers And Hammerstein)

But always remember,

this is the happiest day of your life.

Life Goes On - The Damned (Captain Sensible)
