Curious George Review

It's curiously playable
To say that this game is a lot better than you think it's going to be probably won't mean much. A handheld version of a cutesy animation licence? Where on earth can this go but wrong?

However, surprisingly, Curious George proves to be genuinely playable. It's a 2D platformer that has you jumping over various harmful animals, swinging between vines, swimming around underwater and collecting light bulbs that - you guessed it - equate to an extra life once you reach 50. However, despite the fact that it's a fairly predictable, tried-and-tested concept, we found that the varied level design, simple controls and subtly challenging routes laid out before you raised this above the average.
