Debuted in CHIKARA as part of the Swi$$ Money Holding tag team alongside Ares. Their Tag World Grand Prix was unsuccessful, although they escaped undefeated as their elimination was a result of a draw against the SuperFriends.

Returned to CHIKARA as a member of Sweet ‘n’ Sour International, often wrestling opponents in “European Rules” matches with 5 minute rounds. These matches often ended by KO, with Claudio winning.

Formed the AC/DC tag team with Arik Cannon at Tag World Grand Prix, winning the tournament and forming the Kings of Wrestling with the newly-rudo Chris Hero. Together, the three dominated in matches against the tecnicos. He also entered the Young Lions Cup that year, but fell in an upset to Shane Storm at the end of the semi-final 6-way. Began an epic series of singles encounters with Mike Quackenbush, their final match which saw Claudio victorious and Quackenbush banished from Tag World Grand Prix.

Ended his Tag World record undefeated by winning it for a second time, this time alongside Chris Hero, becoming the first ever CHIKARA Campeones de Parejas. They racked up 2 successful defenses before losing the belts to F.I.S.T., and after the loss Hero kicked Claudio from the Kings of Wrestling. This was thought to be Claudio’s final CHIKARA match due to a newly-signed WWE contract, but he was released soon after.

Returned as a tecnico at King of Trios, demanding revenge on the Kings. He lost his grudge match to Hero following a foul, resulting in him being contractually obligated to the Kings of Wrestling stable. After months of reluctant teaming, Claudio got his chance at the Cibernetico, rapidly eliminating Mitch Ryder and Hero to win the match when all of Los Luchadores were eliminated. This earned Claudio his freedom from the Kings, and a few months later he finally defeated Hero, ending their feud.

Claudio comfortably slotted into his position as the CHIKARA ace in 2008, with his main grudge being against fellow powerhouse Brodie Lee. The feud yielded many inconclusive finishes by disqualification, and even brought the first ever CHIKARA fireball when Lee hired the Fabulous Two to assist him, but it was Castagnoli who would reign supreme again, defeating Brodie in the first ever CHIKARA Steel Cage Match (Lee’s first loss in over a year). Claudio followed that up by winning the second leg of the Global Gauntlet Weekend for CHIKARA in the weekend series with Big Japan Pro-Wrestling. The year ended in a similar manner to 2006, as Claudio finally agreed to team with Larry Sweeney, only for Sweeney to betray him at the first opportunity.

The new year saw Claudio challenged by an old foe in the form of Eddie Kingston. Kingston claimed that Claudio had embarassed him by not respecting him and shaking his hand after a previous match in 2008, a match that Claudio won. Kingston did prevail in a match at Aniversario Yang, pinning Claudio cleanly with an Oklahoma roll.

Outside of the regular roster, Claudio is a co-trainer at the Chikara Wrestle Factory.
