It is indeed a rarity when a debut album is able to distil the essence of any artist.
However, Victoria Williams is considerably more than just any artist and Happy Come

Happy
Come Home Big Fish Opelousas Shoes T.C. Main Road Merry-Go-Round Lights Poetry |
A film by Chris Hegedus and D. A. Pennebaker. What started out as a quick video turned into a 1/2 hour film, and I'm not sure how. We started out to do a few playbacks with Vic and before we knew it we were filming everything she sang. She was a natural story-teller, song-teller actually. Songs about growing up in the bayous of Louisiana, about life in Laurel Canyon and L.A. about anything that came into her head. And when we went back with her to Shreveport, it looked just the way she had said it did. And that's when we knew there was a film. | |
