LaDainian Tomlinson appeared on Sirius Radio’s NFL Channel yesterday to talk about fantasy football. He was promoting another site’s fantasy game. I’m not going to say what site, because, after all, we’ve got our own fantasy product that we’re trying to promote.

After holding personal workouts and meeting with several teams in the offseason, Kevin Jones has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears. The move almost guarantees another backfield committee in the NFL and makes it even harder for fantasy footballers to pass the running back position in the first round.

The return of Brett Favre might have hit that proverbial fork in the road over the weekend, as the Green Bay Packers have told him he will not be released.

The rumors and reports about Brett Favre’s comeback (did he ever really leave?) continue to dominate the NFL and fantasy football headlines. But now it seems like all the speculation is over, as Favre has asked the Packers to release him from his current contract.

The backfield handcuff (drafting the immediate backup of your top running backs) has become one of the more popular strategies in fantasy football in recent seasons. Retired Packers quarterback Brett Favre has the itch to come back to the NFL. He should scratch it, and comeback to the NFL. Of course this is purely for selfish reasons.

Here’s the thing about real “fantasy sleepers” — you’d have to be a little nutty to take them anywhere aside from the last pick of your draft. And even then, there’s a good chance you just wasted a pick that might have been better spent on a quality backup running back.

Just when it looks like the value of Earnest Graham is on the rise, a report surfaces that brings him back down. NFL Network’s Adam Schefter suggests that free agent Kevin Jones is considering signing a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Such a move would further crowd a backfield situation that already includes Graham, Warrick Dunn, Cadillac Williams and Michael Bennett.
