After its blistering opening bar (the “1, 2, 3, 4” that kick-starts “I Saw Her Standing There”), this studio debut is a cautious retread of the young band’s largely secondhand stage set, all recorded in a single day. But Lennon’s leather-lunged closer, “Twist and Shout,” is an astonishing climax.
