2001 Petrie Derailment.

At approximately 17 minutes past midnight on the morning of Friday 21st September 2001, train number C0N0 left the track while travelling through the loop road at Petrie station while heading for Normanby. Locomotive 3906 left the 40 kph curve travelling at approximately 93 kph colliding with empty electric passenger units stowed in the eastern stabling road. Although there were many contributing factors to this accident, Driver fatigue seems to be the root cause.
(Luckily there were no injuries.)
