Rufus Wainwright Announces New Album, Songs for Lulu

Rufus Wainwright is set to celebrate the new year with a new album.

All Days Are Nights: Songs for Lulu, out in the spring, is Wainwright’s first studio album since 2007’s Release the Stars, though it will be the latest in a string of projects he’s completed since then. In 2009 alone, Wainwright contributed to two albums (the War Child Presents Heroes compilation, Rosanne Cash’s The List), released a live album (Milwaukee At Last!!!), and oversaw the premiere of his first opera (Prima Donna).

In celebration of Songs for Lulu’s release, Wainwright will also perform at select U.K. locations:

15 – Glasgow @ Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
16 – Edinburgh @ Usher Hall
17 – Sheffield @ Sheffield City Hall
