I know it’s still January, but Moonstone Books is looking way ahead to May 2010 and the releases coming from the company.

This particular RFR was meant to go up last week, just in time for the annual festival of half-price chocolate, but various things conspired to keep me from completing it until today. For those of you who can’t get enough comic review goodness, I’ve got the cowbell to slake your fever, and it’s time to ask ourselves, baby, what’s the word? In the words of the great philosopher Aloysius Bundy: “Let’s ROCK.”

Buckaroo Banzai is closing in on the world crime league, unfortunately, he and the rest of the Hong Kong Cavaliers will have to go through an army of bionic powered people and genetically modified rats to do it. Sounds like another day in the life of the hard rocking scientist.
Moonstone Books has announced it is bringing back Airboy in an all new series written by Chuck Dixon. It’s all part of Air Fighters #1, that hits stands in January 2010.
Flying in Airboy’s squadron you’ll see Sky Wolf, Black Angel, Flying Dutchman, Bald Eagle, Flying Fool, Iron Ace and Captain Midnight as they take on the original Axis of Evil in the air, on the ground and anywhere else their fight for freedom takes them.
With stories navigated by Tom DeFalco, Martin Powell, Jeff Limke, Len Kody, Mike Bullock and Joe Gentile, the Air Fighters will once again earn their wings by making the skies safe for liberty!

So, I have completed my daily labors, overseeing the dozen fellers and gals what make up the current workgroup to call themselves Team RamRod (“See, you’re Arkot Ramathorn… Ram. And I’m Rodney Farva… Rod. Team RamRod!”) and I am preparing to have some spaghetti and hang out with friends, but first I wanted to catch up with some of the many titles that I’ve neglected over the busy last days of August…

Coming this December from Moonstone, a mini-series that pits the Phantom against The Hammer, a group of ex-KGB agents intent on restoring the USSR to its place as a world super-power. Each of the six issues will feature a chapter from the Phantom’s tale, as well as stand-alone stories spotlighting characters you’ve come to know and love from Moonstone Books.

I give big kudos to Moonstone Books for continuing to bring the adventures of Buckaroo Banzai to the four color world, where fans can lap up the fun and kick assishness that is Team Banzai. It’s just too bad the company keeps crapping his origin time, and time again.
