Writers Chosen for Syfy's Being Human Re-imagining

Share

Okay, my dread over the thought of Syfy redoing the excellent British TV show "Being Human" has abated a little with the network's announcement of who will be helming the show. Husband-and-wife duo Jeremy Carver ("Supernatural") and Anna Fricke ("Privileged") have been selected to write the series.

The Futon Critic got the scoop during the TCA Winter Press Tour and provided the following rationale from Mark Stern, Syfy's head of original programming, "[He's] kind of got the genre cred, and Anna comes out of a more character-based drama world so between them they'll be really interesting." As a frame of reference, most recently Carver penned the awesome "Changing Channels" episode of "Supernatural".

If all goes according to plan, "Being Human" the US version could be ready for a summer launch. While we await casting news and more from Syfy, dig on the trailer for the original below.

Entirely not needed. The original is not even in a different language.

Whatever, SyFy, whatever.

What's next, a redo of Hex and Demons? (Don't let them read this...)

I wouldn't mind a redo of Hex. I saw the entire run and the show is so awful it's pathetic. The main heroine is a pure cunt, the supporting characters are boring, and the main arc is utterly convoluted and dull.

As for Being Human, I don't see why they couldn't have aired the original episodes like they do with Dr. Who. What the dealio Scyfy?

They are being run on BBC America. They finished up the first season a few months ago, and we should be getting Series 2 shortly. (I hope!)

I thought series 2 started last Sunday...? I also thought I had missed the first episode. If it has not started then I'm pretty happy as it means I have not missed one.

I did not totally dislike Hex, the original heroin was annoying but once they moved on to the ghost girls and Malachi, it got better in my eyes. My main issue with t was that it seemed like they just stopped making episode and never really bothered putting in an actual end (or ending)

Thanks Deb. I don't know why I thought that would be here... Can't remember where I read it either... I'll just have to tell our TiVo to record whenever it's on and that way I won't miss it for sure.
