Rescue & Recovery Efforts in Haiti

Americans trying to locate family members in Haiti
are encouraged to contact the State Department at 888/407-4747.

Donations can be made to support Red Cross relief efforts by texting "HAITI" to 90999.
A donation of $10 will automatically be charged to your cell phone bill.
You may also contribute to the Red Cross online.

HHS Deploying U.S. Medical Personnel to Haiti

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has activated the National Disaster Medical System and the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. More than 250 personnel are in the process of deploying to Haiti and over 12,000 personnel could possibly assist in the coming days.

January 14: Young Adults Flu Vaccination Day

National Influenza Vaccination Week continues with a focus on the importance of young adults getting vaccinated against the H1N1 flu. Today, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will visit Hunter College in New York City for a roundtable discussion with students and faculty about the H1N1 flu. Secretary Sebelius will also announce a new Facebook application called, “I’m a Flu Fighter” that allows users to tell their friends that they received the flu vaccination and urge others to do the same.
