Darlington have today completed three more signings following the arrival of defender Alan White.

The club can confirm they've signed 21-year-old right-back Simon Madden, a former Irish Under-21 international, from Shamrock Rovers and midfielder Gareth Waite, 27, from local Northern League club Spennymoor Town.

The Quakers have also signed 19-year-old striker Patrick Dean from Hibernian, subject to clearance.

The three new faces complete a busy few days for boss Steve Staunton, taking his January window signings to six after the arrival of Irish duo Gary Dempsey and Tadhg Purcell last week.

They could all make their debuts in Darlington's Coca-Cola League tie at home to Aldershot at the Northern Echo Arena tomorrow, which would be the club's first game for more than a month.

Staunton said: "It's been a hectic few days but I'm satisfied with the players we've brought in up to now, they'll bring a fresh new look to the squad which is idea for us.

"We're hoping to start the New Year on a new footing and we're going to do everything we can to stay in League Two."

Darlington would like to express their thanks to local non-league club Spennymoor for their assistance with the signing of Waite.

Staunton added: "I'd like to thank the chairman, Bradley Groves, and manager, Jason Ainsley, who have been absolutely superb in allowing us to speak to Gareth and for giving him the opportunity to play league football.

"In return we'll be playing a friendly against them before the end of the season and a pre-season friendly in the summer, and we're very hopeful it could be the start of a fruitful working relationship with Spennymoor."
