Does our horrible training staff count as an ailment??

It's hard to blame the training staff when a lot of the guys spend a significant part of the off season out of town or even overseas. Rudy and Nic were both in the Euros, rookies aren't NBA ready, and Oden spent a lot of time finishing his degree at tOSU...

The training staff has been a failure and it's obvious. Not every injury is there cause, but how they treat minor injuries decides whether these become huge injuries.

Rudy's back has been an issue since last season. Earlier this season Rudy missed a pre-season game due to it. Why didn't they look closer into this and maybe give him the surgery earlier? Or rest him for the first month of the season?

Batum's shoulder issue is directly there fault. He had this problem all of last season. He showed sign of it getting worse in France. They even brought him BACK to Portland to evaluate him. There finding? NO PROBLEM! And now he has surgery to start the season because the pain is too much. WTF!!

Pendergraph! MuthaF!@#!@ Pendergraph! The dude must have been tested by every team in the league and we didn't notice a degenerative hip issue during all the physicals? Really? REALLY?!

Martel's foot injury could have been a half season injury had they brought him back so soon. And he breaks it AGAIN and is done for the season. Nice one training staff.

Then there is Greg. Dude never wears a knee pad. Why? Hakeem did! But the fact that the fracture in his knee cap was the same knee cap that he chipped last season just ticks me off! It obviously never healed fully or correctly. This wasn't a FREAK ACCIDENT like they want everyone to believe. This was an injury waiting to happen.

This season is lost. And it has everything to do with our training staff.

this graphic makes it seem like someone has a voodoo doll out on the blazers.

I think i'm going to start visualizing health for them.

Please cut the unbelievably lame 'fire the training staff' thread out. These are freakishly large people playing an incredibly demanding sport every day. Were they supposed to Bondo Oden's freakin' patella in the preseason? Doesn't matter anyway, you gotta play with who you got, and it's fast becoming obvious that the Blazers front office has vastly overrated their own talent/draft picks recently. Are you telling me the Blazers wouldn't be just fine with Joel starting and Durant on the wing?

The bright side is that the list of injuries and illnesses aren't on the same person. ;)

I really hope the Blazers can come together tonight and play as a team. I read somewhere that the last time Dean coached them they came back from a 20+ point deficit. Tonight I am cheering for them... Go Blazers!

"no excuses for these overpaid babies, get healthy come back and contribute period no excuses !!!"

comments like that just show how naive some of the posters (especially this kendrick dude) are.
it's not about "manning up". it's about taking care of your body.
look what happened last time Martell tried to "man up".
be realistic. these are serious injuries. let them heal properly

They need to circle the heart and put the whole team down.

Exactly. It all comes down to heart and who wants it and the blazers lack both. They are playing so soft its pathetic. They need to get out there and scrap for those millions!!!
