WRITE FOR US
This is a venue for people who are passionate about writing on politics, security, economics or culture in, or related to, the Asia-Pacific region.

UPI Asia.com strives to be a vehicle to enhance the quality of public discourse about issues shaping Asia today.

That is where you come in! We welcome thoughtfully written articles on any topic and from any perspective, although we cannot guarantee that any submission received will be published. On the other hand, getting published here is not terribly difficult either.

We go to great effort to be respectful and inclusive of all ideas and opinions. We are partial to good writing and require that writers operate within the normally accepted bounds of civility.

HOW TO BEGIN

  1. Download and read these two documents:
    1. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
    2. Sample Column
  2. Follow the sample for preparing your article of around 600-1,000 words. Don't forget your brief biography at the end (one or two sentences), Web site and email address.
  3. Send the finished piece to editor@upiasia.com.
  4. Download, sign and email or fax the TERMS OF AGREEMENT. Email: editor@upiasia.com; Fax: 852-5878-2775.

TERMS OF AGREEMENT

  1. UPIASIA.COM does not pay for articles. What we offer is an attractive venue for your article and an opportunity to develop a wider audience for your writing, and your own identity as a writer.
  2. You maintain ownership of the copyright on your work. That means you still own it and can sell it, publish it elsewhere, build a book around it or whatever, without restriction.
  3. A writer submitting a piece does so in agreement of the following terms between United Press International (UPI) which owns UPIASIA.COM and yourself as the Content Provider:
    1. In submitting a piece for publication, you as the Content Provider grant to UPI and UPIASIA.COM a NON-EXCLUSIVE, worldwide irrevocable license to reproduce, archive, license, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, create derivative works from, translate, or otherwise use the Content Provider's Content, or any portion thereof, for any purpose whatsoever, including without limitation licensing, distributing, or otherwise providing the Content to Third Parties, in any and all mediums now known or developed in the future, in any language, anywhere in the world.
    2. In granting UPI a non-exclusive license, the Content Provider does not relinquish copyright ownership of the Content, and may sell or distribute it without restriction.
