Final Boss: Liquid Ocelot

Weaknesses/Tactics:

  • Keep Liquid at a comfortable distance and counterattack whenever possible
  • Blocking will save your life against Liquid's heaviest punches and strikes
  • When using CQC, be quick on the buttons or you'll get hammered

PART I

In this fight, blocking will save your life. Liquid's running headbutt is probably the most dangerous and damaging move you'll have to worry about. Just make sure to dash and dodge his attacks when you can, and gut-punch Liquid when you can get an open shot. If you can use your combos to push him close to the ledge, you be able to pressure Liquid soundly. Sometimes, the old geezer will taunt you if you're knocked down. If that happens, get up quick and punch him silly.

PART II

Liquid will adapt an overpowered wild punch that will always knock you on your ass if you don't avoid it. Blocking will lessen the impact, but you're better off keeping your distance. Luckily, Liquid's punch leaves himself open long enough for you to get some quick combos under his guard. Also, some on-screen prompts will allow you to choke and grapple him, so take advantage of the free damage when you can. After half his life is gone, get ready for another shift...

PART III

Close Quarters Combat, your old friend from Snake Eater, makes an appearance in this leg of the fight, making things more epic than a minute ago. Use the Triangle button and Left Analog stick to counter and cut off Ocelot's attacks. Not only are they the best ways to inflict damage, but the CQC elements of the fight will keep Ocelot from getting off a lot of cheap shots. Stay in close, and you'll both start to lose steam, signaling the ending round of the battle.

PART IV

Old age finally catches up to Liquid as he turns into a punching bag. It only takes a few good blows for here on out -- no CQC, no spinning kicks, and no combos. Beat Liquid down and bring an end to this war once and for all.

I was stuck on the beginning of Act 5 for-ev-er! Should be able to blast my way through Mantis and Liquid now though, especially with these tips.

Did you try playing on the hardest difficulty? I've watched some people on the internet play through most of these battles with NO DAMAGE. That's tough!

maybe you'd prefer the difficulty of the brown One-Eyed Monster from MegaMan for a boss. Prepare for the controller to go through TV screens all over America.

Oh yeah, everybody had beat this, because everybody had the ability to play video games more then an hour a day everyday. Wait, never mind. Stop sounding showy.

What Pookie said. Also, it would be too early for many of us if they posted this much earlier. There are so many damn spoilers in MGS4 that GP probably wouldn't want to ruin.

You're crazy! I didn't use night vision once to kill Crying Wolf. I followed her tracks in the snow like a real man-wolf. Hooowwwwlllll...

With the Metal Gear Ray, I just kicked it three times then slammed it.

I rushed it, and I only fought it once without dying or getting even a quarter of my damage removed. Give it a try.
