La Roux’s Bulletproof by The Holograms
May 18, 2009 – 2:17 pm by David KnightElly ‘La Roux’ Jackson travels through engaging geometric worlds in matching outfits in French motion graphic design/directing team The Holograms new vid for Bulletproof.
Created with a combination of imaginative set design, cool wardrobe and extreme post, it was shot in London, completed in Paris. Although as it’s La Roux, one tends to look first at the hair. And eye-makeup. But like In For The Kill, it’s probably a grower.

Great track, great artist and a video with some lovely sections in it.
Hats off too the set designers and builders for the bits that aren’t 3D (the black room mostly I think).
But really overall it looks like some one spent 5 weeks and a ton of cash playing around on expensive machines too make a remake of the Loreal Hair Gel Ad’s of the 80’s!
As I said I love the track and La Roux but could some one not come up with something more interesting than a 21st Century Homage too the 80’s? Its an amazing effort and technically superb but leaves the viewer a little luke warm.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A COMPLETE JOKE.
HORRIFICALLY BAD ON ALL COUNTS.

Although i think Piet Mondrian would have been sick in his mouth after watching the L’Oreal ads, i feel he would have dug this.
