Next time you download a movie, you’ll see we’ve dramatically improved the way you do it.
The new BigPond Movies Downloads client will be replacing the BigPond Media Manager. This change will effectively simplify the entire process of purchasing and downloading content from the Movies Download service.
A technical check will be presented and will advise if Windows Media Player 11 has been installed onto the system. If it isn't detected, it will advise to install the program on to the computer. Follow the below steps to successfully download and watch a movie.
Step 1 - Join or Login
Either use your existing BigPond Movie Downloads login or Join now.
Step 2 - Browse Library and Add to Cart
Browse the BigPond Movie Downloads Library and choose the titles of your choice by selecting 'Add to Cart' next to the title listings.
Step 4 - Pay via Credit Card or Voucher
Once you've selected the titles you want, go to Shopping Cart and follow the steps for payment.
Step 5 - Download
Once payment is complete and you've received confirmation, the title will appear under your My Downloads page. You can select the 'Download Now' button to download the title to the computer that you are currently using
A pop up window will appear showing download progression. If you haven't installed the Download Client ActiveX program, a dialogue box will appear requesting the installation of the ActiveX program.
Note: the play button will enable after 10% of the title has been downloaded
The movie files are kept in your "My Videos\BigPond Movies" folder in your My Documents folder.
Old Media Manager
The new Media Download Client will work with the old Media Manager still installed on your computer. You can however choose to uninstall the Media Manager by clicking Start >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs >> BigPond Media Manager >> Remove.
If you decide to clean up your computer to increase performance, removing the media manager will free up approximately 25Mb of memory for other applications.
