Goldie's Garage: 3rd Friday of the month at Midnight ET

Genya Ravan is a legendary figure. She survived and escaped a WWII concentration camp as a child. She came to America full of piss and vinegar. In the '60s she formed the very FIRST all-girl band (not a "girl group" of vocalists), Goldie & the Gingerbreads, which was a precursor to the Runaways and the Go-Go's. They were signed by the legendary record mogul Ahmet Ertegun to Atlantic Records. She then went on to front one of the pioneers in the brass based rock'n'roll genre, Ten Wheel Drive. Also on her resume is a solo career, a stint as a record label entrepeneur (Ronnie Spector recorded an album for her company) and many credits as producer including albums by the Dead Boys, Tiny Tim and Kool & the Gang. Now she's turning her ambitions and talents toward towards the Underground Garage.
