Potsdamer Platz
Good to know

Since 2000 the Berlinale has taken place at Potsdamer Platz. It is the permanent location of the Berlinale's main office and all major guest and information services during the festival period. Furthermore the Berlinale Palast and the majority of cinemas are located here. The locations and venues of the European Film Market (Martin-Gropius-Bau), the Berlinale Co-Production Market (Berlin House of Representatives) and the Berlinale Talent Campus (Theater Hebbel am Ufer) as well as a number of hotels are also situated in the vicinity of Potsdamer Platz.
As a visitor to the Berlinale you will likely spend most of your time on and around Potsdamer Platz. To help you find your way, here are some useful addresses and information. Further information which might be helpful in planning your visit to the Berlinale, can be found under the Service links on the left or under Venues and Partner Hotels.

Eating & Shopping

Potsdamer Platz offers countless options to satisfy your hunger and thirst at any time of the day. From fast food and light snacks to multi-course meals, in a wide range of cooking styles and prices, plus plenty of cafés and espresso bars – on Potsdamer Platz you can find the comprehensive infrastructure one expects in a modern, functional business district.

The central point of reference for food and shopping in the area are the “Potsdamer Platz Arkaden”, a shopping mall with a total of 120 retailers and brand name stores over three floors. On the basement level you can find a long food court, two supermarkets, two drugstores and other shops for day-to-day provisions. During the festival the ground floor of the Arkaden is home to the Berlinale’s central ticket counter as well as the Berlinale Shop.

Doctors & Pharmacy

For visitors in need of medical attention we recommend calling the central phone line Call a Doc:
01804-22 55 23 62 (0.24 Euro per call from a German landline)

A pharmacy is located in the basement level of the Potsdamer Platz Arkaden shopping centre.

Lost & Found

During the Berlinale, the central collection point for objects found at festival venues is located at the reception of Potsdamer Straße 5 (head offices of the Berlin International Film Festival). If you lose something we recommend that you first enquire at the venue itself. Most venues have their own lost property collection point.
