Practical Jokers Faber Drive Looking Forward To Canadian Tour

With a giant cross-Canada tour coming up in March with fellow rockers Hedley, Stereos and Fefe Dobson, we wanted to check in with Canada's great pop-punk rockers Faber Drive to see what's in store. The band is hot on the release of their sophomore album can’T keEp A SecrEt and the hit single G-Get Up And Dance. can'T keEp A SecrEt spans several genres of contemporary music, some familiar for Faber Drive, and others in uncharted territory, such as the band’s cover of the Cars’ “Just What I Needed,” and of course, the dancy hit single.

The band loves to tour and they love pulling off on-the-road practical jokes with the bands they play with. Join us as bassist Jeremy "Krikit" Liddle talks about some of the jokes that they've played with their fellow rockers and what it's like to have Nickelback's Chad Kroeger as their record company president.

The tour starts March 22 in Penticton and runs until April 20 when the tour ends in St. Johns, Newfoundland.

It should be a good year for you guys with the new album and a tour with the Hedley guys.

This isn’t the first time you’ve played with Hedley, you must be good friends.

If you guys took on Hedley in a game of Rock Band, who would come out victorious?

There is no confidence there.

When you went into the studio to record Can’t Keep A Secret, what was different from the first album?

Would you do more of that on the next album?

Is that the inspiration behind the song G-Get Up and Dance?

Was there a reason for choosing Can’t Keep A Secret as the album title?

Is there a recent secret on your mind that you’re dying to share?

Covering The Cars – Just What I Needed. Great song and I bet Ric Ocasek (lead singer of The Cars) would love it.

Is that a vocoder you guys used or do you use something else for the sound?

Some fans have said that on the new album you guys have strayed from the original sound. What is your response to that?

I think this album shows us that Faber Drive can’t really be defined by one catch phrase. It’s pop, punk, rock and dance and it’s better that way. How would you describe Faber Drive to someone?

Was where you are now what you had in mind when you guys started the band?

How did you hook-up with the new band members?

We’re in Pitt Meadows, just down the road from you guys in Mission. How does Mission feel about being home to a cool Canadian rock band?

I read in Wikipedia that The Police, Def Leppard, Stryper and U2 are influences. Have the new members brought any new influences to the mix?

Chad Kroeger (of Nickelback) signed you to his label. What was that experience like?

Do you think being on a label owned by an international rock star helps you guys at all or are there days you wish it was just owned by some bald guy in a suit?

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

If you could tour with anybody who would it be?

Do you have any Canadian road stories, that you would like to share?
