The eighteenth and last child of his parents; upon the death of his father (1884), moved with his mother to Huatabampo, where went to school, and later worked there for a time; elected for the term of 1920-1924 with 96 percent of votes and entered the office on December 1, 1920. Obregón’s administration was interrupted in 1923 by a serious armed uprising led by Adolfo de la Huerta, who believed that he, rather than Plutarco Elías Calles, deserved the next presidential nomination.
