GameSpot reports Soulcalibur will also be making its way to the PSP. While not an exact port of Soulcalibur IV (we won’t be seing Yoda, Darth Vader, or the Apprentice) we will see the introduction of at least one new character and several gameplay enhancements for the series’ handheld debut. GAMES ON played host to the Southern California Soulcalibur IV Regionals. In the end, it was Aris of SoCal who came back from losers and ultimately took 1st using Cassandra and Siegfried! Along with other prizes, the top four placers earned seed spots for the Soulcalibur IV Nationals in July. Follow the link below for more results.

The console-exclusive Star Wars characters for Soulcalibur IV are now available for both systems. Darth Vader is up for download from Xbox Live for 400 points (~$5) while Yoda is up on PSN for $4.99. Check the link below for screens of the two versus each other.

We had a great turnout over the weekend. There were plenty of upsets alongside plenty of amazing comebacks. In the end, it was Duragon of San Diego who took 1st Place using Siegfried, followed by MoTempest in 2nd using Taki, and KingSalmon in 3rd using Mitsurugi. The balance patch, Version 1.03, is now live for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Soul Calibur IV. The patch includes various character changes such as the removal of Ivy’s WS B infinite and Yoshimitsu’s aB+K(CH) to 3AB no longer able to connect.

Fans of Hori’s smaller arcade sticks for the will be pleased to know that both the PS3’s Fighting Stick 3 and the Xbox 360’s Fighting Stick EX2 are being repackaged for Soul Calibur IV’s late July release. The SCIV themed sticks are identical to their previous incarnations and feature Soul Calibur IV themed artwork. They will be available in stores by the end of this month.
