What Are Your Hopes For The Island Over The Next Decade?

Sal and Simon

A very Happy New Year to you all. We hope that any fragility that you might have experienced earlier in the day has now passed.

What Are Your Hopes For The Island for The Next Decade? With it being the start of a new year and a new decade, we wondered if you all fancied having a go at saying what you’d like to see happen on the Island over the next year, and even more ambitiously, how you’d like to see the Island over the next decade.

If we get enough responses in, we’ll write a piece compiling your thoughts and publish it on VB.

Feel free to add your thoughts below.

Partial Eclipse of A Blue Moon TonightThere will be a partial eclipse of a blue moon on 31st December. However, only a very small area of the Moon will enter the Earth’s shadow, and although there may be some shading seen across the whole of the Moon, it won’t be the colour blue. Parking Consulation Ends Friday: Have Your Say on Changes

Sal

As readers of VB and residents of Ventnor will know, a public consultation is taking place at the moment for changes to parking and traffic restrictions in Ventnor.

We first reported on the consultation a couple of weeks ago, which was followed up with a report from the Ventnor Town Council (VTC) meeting, where members of the public voiced their concerns over the proposed changes to parking in St Catherine’s Street.

Removal of 20 parking spaces
Residents in St Catherine’s Street and surrounding roads are angry at the proposed changes which will see 20 parking spaces removed from the road, having a detrimental effect on those using the road, as well as neighbouring roads that are already struggling to accommodate parking for all.
