Not sure I understand what you mean by 'wider'. LocalGovCamps whilst held around the UK have been open to all and we'd envisage LocalGovCamp Y&H being the same. The distinction with govcamps seems to have blurred - my understanding was they were 'targeted' more towards central govv and agencies. I did notice that most delegates on Saturday were however local gov types. Worried about event overload if we're not careful.

Interesting... @alncl and I were just talking on Twitter about that sort of date for a wider govcamp north. What would thoughts be around combining this sort of event, so there is a mix of local/national?

All. We've been wrestling with running a LocalGovCamp Yorkshire & Humber since attendance at last years event in Brum. To be honest it's been a bit cat and mouse, we were going to go in Jan before UKGC10 was announced and then in March before the date for London slipped! So, we are minded now to set a date in June (post purdah - we have some interest for including a session for elected members). We've settled on York and have a great venue in mind. Don't know if this is of interest to colleagues in the real North! We've set up a site at http://www.localgovcamp-yh.co.uk/ which we'll update in due course. Let me know what you think!

Jolly good Mr Hunter. D'ya think anybody else in your area would be interested?

Been following UKGovCamp 2010 today and feeling a bit left out :-( I'm more than happy to go into full-on organisational mode and help with making something happen this side of the border ((or even in Newcastle, cos they're 98% Scottish anyway (I can get away with saying that because I lived in Newcastle for 5 years)). If there's enough interest...?

I think ScotWeb 2 happened in June last year? But I do think that 2010 is the year that a few of us get-together and make UKGovWebNorth happen, perhaps in summer?

Hold on, Lesley, hold on(!) - let's maybe see what comes out of the London event later this month, and see if we can generate local interest in any of the themes that get an airing there?

That'd be a no then? I'll get my coat :-)
