Airtricity named as new League sponsor

Airtricity has signed a three-year title sponsorship deal for the League of Ireland, which now becomes the Airtricity League.

The agreement will cover the remaining two years of the FAI's management of the League and will be renewed for a further year, subject to continued FAI management.

The first round of the new Airtricity League kicks off next Friday night, 5 March.

Welcoming the sponsorship, chairman of the National League Executive Committee Eamon Naughton said: 'We are thrilled to be teaming-up with a company of the stature of Airtricity. The decision of Airtricity to come on board as title sponsors of the Airtricity League is a strong endorsement of our league and a huge boost to Irish football.

'Together with our existing sponsors, Airtricity will help us grow and develop the league. As a league which prides itself on producing top quality young players, we are delighted to be working so closely with one of Ireland's top, young companies.'

In addition to title sponsorship, Airtricity will also have marketing, promotional and branding rights arising from the deal.

It will also be the preferred energy partner of the FAI.
