Grasscut 'Muppet'
Grasscut return with the second single from their forthcoming debut album, 'Muppet'. Available to buy now from Bleep.com and the Ninjashop.
Continuing their theme of exploring the essence of our culture, on 'Muppet' Andrew Phillips and Marcus O’Dair deal with losing your ability to communicate, something Phillips describes as “a very English kind of frustration.”
Remix duties are ably dealt with by Nathan Fake, the estimable Norfolkian who can throw in everything from next-wave computer rock techno to vertiginous ambient pilgrimages, or in this case, come up with something in between. The package is rounded out by the ecstatic, electro-psych sweep of 'Meadowhall At Last'.
Already acclaimed by Tom Robinson as “making genuinely daring music that still remains an accessible and enjoyable listen,” Grasscut are set to release one of the oddest, most listenable and strangely uplifting albums of the year.

Bonobo 'Eyesdown' (Warrior One Remix) - Free Download
Simon Green aka Bonobo returns with one of the key cuts from his forthcoming album, 'Black Sands'. Drawing as much on the rhythms of two-step as the lush soundscapes for which he�s best known, 'Eyesdown' also features a remarkable vocal from Andreya Triana and enough fuzzed-out sub-bass for a binful of dubsteppers. Classic and contemporary, melancholy and exhilarating all at once, 'Eyesdown' sounds like the kind of record Massive Attack could be making if they were starting out now.

Remix duties are taken care of by Floating Points and Warrior One. Floating Points got his break at London�s renowned CDR Sessions a couple of years back. Since then his re-edits have been picked up and championed by the likes of Gilles P and Joy Orbison. Here, he stretches the original out into a broken ballad, the vocals increasingly disembodied, the keyboards playing robot soul. Warrior One, meanwhile, give it some of their trademark ravement vibrations. Whilst Appleblim & Komonazmu do a dubbed out warm minimal version.

Bonobo 'Black Sands' Photos Map Competition!
Competition! The photographs for Bonobo's 'Black Sands', 'The Keeper' and 'Eyesdown' were arranged so the place where the next shot was taken from is in view, forming a triangle.
For a chance to win the Bonobo back catalogue, email the name of the lake that centres in the photos to competition@ninjatune.net with the subject line 'BONOBO LAKE'. Winners will be drawn at random, competition ends Wednesday 17th February.

Solid Steel radio show - DJ Cheeba, Ghostbeard & DJ Grotesque
Solid Steel in association with Serato (5th February) Cheeba returns with a mix more typical of his live DJ sets. Setting out on some re-edited trip hop from the likes of Depth Charge and Waxfactor leading through to more upbeat dance floor devastation from Diplo, Afrika Bambaataa and Peter Parker. From the Ninja catalogue, The Slew and Scruff jostle for space with King Cannibal and two edits from DJ Food's recent EPs. Typically layered and cut up this is Cheeba back on a short break from his video adventures.
Ghostbeard kicks off hour 2 with a few old skool jungle ragga tracks and when it's labels like Congo Natty, Ganja, you know what to expect, plus tracks from Bongo Chilli, Marcus Visionary and Busy Signal. DJ Grotesque is back with more of a reggae dancehall feel, with artists Ghetto Priest, Jah Screechy alongside Poirier, Toddla T and Modeselector.

Big Dada Podcast #8
It's been a long wait over the chilly post-Xmas weeks we know, but we're very pleased to announce a warm sunny breeze of a Big Dada Podcast. Hosted by a noticeably perky A La Fu, this installment comes all the way from Australia, which half of our artists seem to have the sense to visit over January. Well, Roots Manuva anyway. He's on the cast, and so is the ever brilliant Wayne Lotek, the producer behind, most recently, Speech Debelle's Mercury Prize winning album. There's also a highly unexpected appearance from a Ninja Tune new man, and loads of great music from The Infesticons, Offshore, Juice Aleem, Jammer and many more. 'Av it.
