Metal Detector Sampler Coming Soon

Metal Sampler March 2010

In the very near future, everyone out there in Metal and Active Rock radio land will be receiving the latest edition of the FMQB Metal Detector sampler, featuring host Ski of WJJO/Madison. Ski will be telling you about new, up-and-coming bands like Hail The Villain, 2 Cents and Mortemia, veteran acts like Ratt and Helloween, and bands that have been making a living in the underground for quite some time, such as Fireball Ministry and Evergreen Terrace, who deliver an exclusive cover of the Foo Fighters' "Everlong." There is even one a capella Metal act – Van Canto – which is certainly worth checking out for its uniqueness. And of course, you will be able to get a taste of Ski's nightly Metal show, JJOverdrive, by listening to her demo at the end of the CD. Keep an eye on the mailbox for the March FMQB Metal Detector sampler, coming soon!

Bay Area thrash legends Death Angel are writing songs for their next release, tentatively due in September. The band heads to Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, FL in March to work with producer Jason Suecof. Guitarist Rob Cavestany stated, "Jason is one of my favorite producers churning out some of the sickest slabs of metal out there today. I am so stoked to have the chance to co-produce our next record with him. It’s gonna be vicious! The band is on fire right now in the thick of pre-production and the new songs are crushing! We can’t wait to start tracking!" Vocalist Mark Osegueda added, "The new material is the most aggressive and technical music we have written in years. So we needed a producer that was capable of unleashing the tones that match and compliment the over-all vibe of the songs. With Jason’s experience in producing some of the most brutal contemporary metal artists and albums of today I know we made the right choice! I think the collaboration between the two of us will prove to be venomous and infectious!"
