Max Gradel battles at Brentford

Manager Simon Grayson says he is excited about the future for Leeds United as the League One campaign heads for its climax.

United are 13 games away from a return to the Coca-Cola Championship with Brentford next up at Elland Road on Saturday.

Grayson's men beat Oldham last time out at home and have the opportunity to both extend the unbeaten run to four games and to pull further away from the chasing pack.

Andy Scott's Bees will arrive with a six-point cushion above the relegation zone, but United will be aiming to go one better than the point picked up from a dour encounter at Griffin Park before Christmas.

"We have to deal with whatever game plan Brentford come with," said the manager.

"If they come to be defensive we have to be clever to break them down. Earlier in the season teams came to attack and we dealt with that.

"Whatever Brentford do they do. We have to have energy, get our crosses in and have a good tempo about us."

With tickets limited in certain areas for Saturday's game, the visit of Brentford looks set to attract the first 25,000 plus league crowd since Boxing Day.

"I'm excited about what could happen," said the manager. "Over 25,000 is a great testament.

"People have put their hands in their pockets to back us and it's like I've always said, we're all in it together and whatever we achieve we will do it together."
