The stand off between the Hockey India and the National Team, over issues of payment seem to spoil the spirit of Hockey World Cup Team. There could not any shame than the host team itself begging for money when crores of rupees are spent for hosting the 12th Men's World Cup Hockey at Delhi. It is sensible for the Govt. to step in resolve the hockey crisis since the elected Indian Hockey Federation was removed last year, the new Hockey India's current Committee is of an Ad-hoc nature. Obviously the present adhoc committee lacks experience and sensitivity to handle the crisis. Also the election process for Hockey India is due to be completed on Feb. 7 and the new management will take time to understand the problem to settle the issue before the world cup which begins on Feb. 28. Sports Ministry must address hockey players payment problem as there seem to be no dearth of money with the ministry for national sp ort.

It is understood that the NHAI has spent money to construct this flyover, and needs to recover it. But mind it that since this route is a daily route, such a high toll fee would be a huge burden for commuter's (especially software engineers'). Occasionally, it is OK. So I request the NHAI to reduce the toll fee and introducing monthly pass for daily users.

Giving too much importance to cricket and not giving the importance due to other games like Hockey etc., is responsible for the sad state of affairs leading to crisis in that game. Though the cricket management is being controlled by BCCI with sufficient funds at its disposal,there is no such management in other games with meagre funds resulting in crisis. Therefore the need of the hour is that a similar management to other games like Hockey etc.,should be established with enough funds for paying remuneration to the players and for controlling the management,and thus dispel the anamoly existing between cricket and other games like Hockey etc.,as giving too much importance to cricket and not treating other games in a different manner tantamounts to discrimination.
