Plot Summary:Haruhi is a poor tomboyish student at a school for the ultra-wealthy, able to attend because of a scholarship, and unable to even afford a uniform. One day, she stumbles across the decidedly peculiar but very popular Ouran Host Club. She tries to leave, but accidentally breaks a vase, and unable to pay for it, she's told that she'll have to stay and do odd jobs. That is, until they decide she would be more valuable as a club member. Not realizing she's female due to her appearance, they fix her up and give her a male uniform. She's an instant hit, so they decide to have her keep up the charade even after they find out the truth. Haruhi, being average almost to a fault, doesn't know what to make of the unconventional activities of the Host Club (or of the even more unconventional members), but having little choice, she plays along. Before long, real bonds are formed, friends made, and Haruhi finds herself accepted in a way she could never have been otherwise in this affluent school.

Arata: The Legend GN 1 What's going on around Arata seems interesting, yet it's hard to care when he spends the vast majority of his time whining about how betrayed he feels.
Claymore BLURAY The Blu Ray version of this dark, graphic fantasy series about blond female warriors wielding big swords offers very little that the original DVD releases did not. Though the series shows pronounced shonen influences, it is still, at essence, a very human story, and that makes all the difference.
Dragon Box Z Set 2 Does post-Vegeta-arc DBZ bog down like a fat-bottomed tourist in quicksand? Will cool power-ups and guys putting fists through each other save it anyway? Is it all worth buying yet again? Find out this and more on today's Anime Review Z!!
Case Closed: The Phantom of Baker Street DVD It's about action-packed sleuthing, which this movie does decently at the end ... but fumbles through a painful beginning and poorly paced middle to get there.
Beast Player Erin Episodes 26-50 Streaming Where its first half was the story of a young girl maturing into a woman, its second is the story of that woman, bullied by the winds of change into becoming the cornerstone of a new era.
Evangelion: 1.11 You Are [Not] Alone BLURAY The movie revamp of the first six episodes of the landmark 1995 mecha series is now available on Blu-Ray, complete with Extras. It triumphs most gloriously in its intensity and ultimately delivers well as both an action-oriented piece and dramatic psychological study.
Case Closed: The Last Magician of the Century DVD This solid, surprisingly involving mystery movie about a Fabergé Egg heist which turns complicated (and deadly!) is easily accessible even to a complete Case Closed/Detective Conan neophyte.
Blade of the Immortal GN 22 Half forward march and half lingering look back, this isn't the series' most focused installment. It is, however, a fulfilling one, particularly for long-time fans curious about where Rin and Manji's relationship may be going.
To Love-Ru DVD Collection 2 More shenanigans involving Rito, his alien princess fiancée, and the bevy of teen beauties surrounding them ensue, generating more consistent comedy and fan service gold than the first half. Not a great series, but as frivolous entertainment goes, you could certainly do far worse.
Slam Dunk GN 8 Slam Dunk overcomes its brief slump and is on fire once again, delivering terrific sports action while continuing to build an engaging story around its characters.
Battle Royale -Ultimate Edition- GN 1 The Battle Royale manga does the original novel that inspired it proud, and it is easy to see why readers on both sides of the Pacific love returning to its lyrical yet terrible dance of adolescent death.
