Was selected to play with the U.S. Women's National Team in the 2010 Algarve Cup in Portugal. Earned her first international cap during a 1-all draw against England on Jan. 28, 2007. Was a member of the U.S. U-23 National Team in 2009. Played with the U-20 National Teams that competed in the 2006 U-20 World Championship in Russia, the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil, and the 2008 CONCACAF qualifying tournament for the U-20 World Championship in November 2008 in Chile. She earned a silver medal in the 2007 Pan Am Games.
Played at University of North Carolina. In her four seasons she accumulated 55 goals, 29 assists and 139 points for the Tar Heels. Nogueira was part of three College Cup Championship teams and four ACC Tournament Championship squads. In five of the six College Cup games she played in, Nogueira either had the game-winning goal or assist. In 2008 as a junior, she put together her best individual season with a career-high 25 goals and 103 points. That year she won the Mary Garber Award as the ACC Female Athlete of the Year and was the consensus National Player of the Year in women's soccer, winning the Honda Soccer Award, Soccer America Player of the Year, Soccer Buzz Player of the Year and national awards from Top Drawer Soccer and Soccer News Network.
