While keeping relatively mum on the top executives leaving the company, Microsoft highlighted the promotions of no less than 14 of its leaders that continue along with the company. The new and expanded roles for key executives have resulted in a total of seven new senior vice presidents and seven new corporate vice presidents. The list of Microsoft executives that are out with the spring cleaning has to start with Online Services Business Chief Steve Berkowitz (whose planned transition will come to an end in August 2008). Berkowitz is joined by now (Former)
Senior Vice President, Mobile Communications Business Pieter Knook, by (Former) Corporate Vice President, Windows Product Marketing Mike Sievert, and Scott Di Valerio (Former) Corporate Vice President, OEM Division.

But Microsoft failed to waste time crying over the executives that have divorced from the company, and focused on the 14 leaders with fancy new titles. "Along with attracting world-class talent from outside the company, one of my top priorities is growing Microsoft's existing leadership team," revealed Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer at Microsoft. "Each of these executives will play a critical role in leading Microsoft into the future. Today's promotions are a result of their ability to think strategically on a global scale, the respect they've earned from their peers, customers and partners, and their significant contributions to the company."

No less than seven corporate vice presidents have been promoted to the position of senior vice presidents. Chris Capossela is from February 14 the new senior vice president, Information Worker Product Management Group; Kurt DelBene has become the senior vice president, Office Business Platform Group; Antoine Leblond the senior vice president, Office Productivity Applications Group; Andy Lees the senior vice president, Mobile Communications Business; Satya Nadella the senior vice president, Search, Portals & Advertising Group, S. Somasegar the senior vice president, Developer Division and Bill Veghte the senior vice president, Online Services & Windows Business Group.

And joining the seven corporate vice presidents are just as many corporate vice presidents, promoted from positions of general manager. The new roles of corporate vice presidents have been bestowed on Walid Abu-Habda for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Group; Brad Brooks in the Windows Consumer Product Marketing; Larry Cohen - Corporate Communications; Steve Guggenheimer, - Original Equipment Manufacturer Division; Scott Guthrie - .NET Developer Platform; Roz Ho - Premium Mobile Offerings; and Brian Tobey - Manufacturing and Operations for Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division.
