Monday night at Rose Bar in the Gramercy Park Hotel, Rufus Wainwright serenaded an intimate, celeb-packed crowd in a concert so-secret hotel staff didn't even know when it would be.

The performance was part of Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar Sessions, an ongoing concert series thrown by the hotel; recent performances have included Guns & Roses and Elefant.

Fresh off her messy night at her daughter's 25th birthday party, Susan Sarandon came out along with her daughter, Eva Amurri, Eva's boyfriend, soccer player Kyle Martino, and friend Damon Cardasis.

Also on hand to hear Wainwright were Rose Bar partner and creative director Nur Khan, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Lou Reed, Alan Cumming, Lucy Liu, Natasha Lyonne, Michael Kors, Christian Siriano, Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn, Penn Badgley, and Zack Quinto.

She doesn't look her best in these photos, nor very happy. In one, her arms are so thin and you can see the blue veins. Anyway, I've always liked and admired Susan Sarandon and hope she's doing well and is happy.

She looks just like someone's mom accompanying her daugher to a bar.

I'm happy to say that several of these are my photographs...love the Rufus Wainwright shot but the Michael Kors is one of the worst photos of anyone I've ever taken...

I am not sure why this was newsworthy. The next post - Susan Sarandon shops for socks (photos).

Probably because people like you click and comment...

That's why it's posted, because these stories get clicks and comments - even if you're being a critic, it's still numbers. Is this so hard to understand?

My daughter just had a birthday today. We had a family dinner party on Sunday and today she went to lunch with her friends, her PEERS, I was NOT invited. So, I celebrated with my peers, we smoked our medical marijuana and baked a cake. It may have been the kids birthday, but it was MY give birthday. I had no desire to be a part of my kids crowd, all they do is talk about having babies and taking care of kids...blah blah blah...........I"M DONE WITH ALL THAT. Look at Susan, look at the kids, what do they have it common? Nothing, and if they do, either she's immature or he's a Benjamin Button. Sorry, but it was enough to dine with my child. I party with my peers.

Ah, you know the saying..."Moral indignation is jealousy with a halo." Yeah, I know the quote doesn't quite fit, but I hope you get my drift...Live and let live. I lived in Spain and then Latin America for a total of 15 years. There, family is paramount, and yes, parents do spend their birthdays with their children, and vice versa. It would be unthinkable to exclude them. Go Susan!

Touche, but they are not sitting at the family dining table. Where's Grandma and Grandpa, and Uncle and Auntie and the cousins? Surely that is not them in the backround? Live and Let Live? Even the worst among us?

So Susan, and I guess all of us, have to live by your standards. Got it.

Funny how movie stars don't really have to live to normal standards as if they weren't really HUMAN. You can live by any standard you want, for all I know you're a killer or a weirdo, but hey, if that's your bag, live and let live right? All I'm saying is at 60+ you don't need to be in the bar with your kids and their friends to celebrate your kids birthday. Believe me, if it were just a photo op, give the kid a little exposure, ok that's how these types operate, but with the 20 something boyfriend along, I thinks somebody is trying to live their salad days over again.

So, once again, I COULD CARE LESS about this, but since it appears we are ALL on this thread together, it's either curiousity , voyeurism, or boredom. Since the first two don't apply to me, you may be right, and I need to get off this computer.

Susan's lovely, and there's not a thing wrong with having a few drinks, a few laughs and (when you're single) a few loves. She's way more than fine! She's great!

She's always been lively and sexy and there's no reason for her to stop just because she's a little bit older.

Have a great time, Susan! You only get one go around!!

Susan is lovely woman but she looks her age (mine) and it seems to me she should start acting it. I'm sure it's fun once in a while to have an evening with Mom, but I bet her daughter's embarrassed by her mother's behavior. It's human nature.

Actually I was thinking otherwise. I thought how caring her daughter was to include her mother on a night on the town. Perhaps she is concerned how her mother is coping now that she's alone.

I'll say it again, ..."Moral indignation is jealousy with a halo." As I noted in a comment above, many cultures celebrate family - it's nice to see a little of the same here. And -- come on now, be honest -- would you really pass up a chance to spend an intimate evening with the extraordinarily talented Rufus Wainwright singing to your little group? (or if he's not your cup of tea, fill in the blank with your favorite entertainer). Not to mention the other talents in the group...
