Kanjorski speaker for Chamber breakfast Thursday

Joseph Durkin, president of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce, announced Congressman Paul E. Kanjorski will be speaker at the “Swing into Spring” Breakfast Meeting of the chamber on Thursday, April 1, at St. Anthony’s Parish Center, 28 Memorial Street, Exeter.

Pittston Twp. recycling center hours announced

Due to drop-off of materials other than recyclables the Pittston Township Board of Supervisors modified the hours of operation of the recycling center located on the Pittston By-Pass. The new hours of operation are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

‘Trooper of the Year’ honor for Robert Lombardo

A Pennsylvania state trooper injured in a shooting in 2009 that claimed the life of his colleague was named Trooper of the Year by the International Association of Chiefs of Police and Motorola.

Bill Gladish, 67, is the chairman of the Pittston Planning Commission. He has a degree in architecture form Penn State. He is the director of construction for Geisinger Health System. He and his wife the former Marie Capitano have three adult children Samantha, Jon and Jacob and six grandchildren.
