HULL City midfielder Jamie Devitt is set to sign for the Mariners on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The Irishman, who has scored 3 times in 7 games for Town, has obviously impressed Neil Woods.

He said: "Jamie wants to stay, he's happy to stay with us.

"We've agreed in principle with Hull and it looks like it is happening.

"We've added quality players to the team and Jamie is one of those."

Devitt is expected to pen the deal on Wednesday - ahead Thursday's loan deadline.

Meanwhile, Mark Oxley has gone the other way and returned to Hull after a month's loan spell with the Mariners. The big stopper played just one game for Town during that time.

And Neil Woods doesn't expect any further transfer activity ahead of Thursday. He said: "We had seven players on loan and you can only have five in your squad.

"It's unlikely, but you can never say never," Woods added.
