Disputes & Complaints

With more than 50,000 members and 70,000 licensees throughout Australia and New Zealand, APRA|AMCOS is committed to providing the best service possible at all times.

Code of Conduct
APRA and AMCOS subscribe to a Code of Conduct for copyright collecting societies. Compliance with the Code by participating collecting societies is currently the subject of an independent annual review being conducted by former Federal Court judge, Mr James Burchett QC.

Complaints
There may be times when various clients and stakeholders may have cause to comment on some aspect of the conduct or operations of APRA|AMCOS. To assist anyone wishing to make a complaint, we have a Complaints Procedure that ensures that any complaints received by APRA|AMCOS are handled in an efficient, transparent and fair manner.

Disputes
APRA|AMCOS provide an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service to resolve disputes between members. Generally, the disputes are between writers or between writers and smaller publishers.
In addition, APRA|AMCOS also provide an Expert Determination process for time and cost effective resolutions of certain disputes with licensees or potential licensees.
