Details: The BOSS 429 is one of the rarest and most valued Mustangs of all time. Total production in 1970 was limited to 500 cars and the only year the Grabber Blue paint was available. The BOSS 429 was invented to make Ford a contender in the NASCAR race series and did so with this new engine. Kar Kraft out of Dearborn, Michigan was commissioned to make this motor properly fit into the Mustang engine compartment. To show how special these cars were, they were each given special NASCAR identification numbers. Before you today is KK #2192 built on September 29, 1969. This BOSS 9 has the rare "S" motor installed from a 1969 BOSS 429 (KK# 1864) and still wears its original VIN of 9F02Z198804. These "S" motors are considered the best engines of all the Boss 429 series due to the beefier internal NASCAR components and this engine is built to those exact specifications. The original numbers matching 4-speed transmission is installed along with the original 3.91 Traction-Lok differential. This car was purchased at Hull Dobbs Ford in Memphis, Tennessee and delivered on November 11, 1969. It was ordered in Grabber Blue paint with white bucket seats and today is still the hottest color in all Mustangs. This car was treated to a rotisserie restoration in 2001 to factory specifications and in 2009 handed over to Hunter Williard, the East Coast's best MCA Mustang restoration shop. His job was to freshen this car up and bring it up to date to all new MCA guidelines. This restoration included dialing in the massive engine and running gear to top notch condition. The undercarriage and engine bay are highly detailed with correct overspray, chalk marks, smog system and paint dabs. Both vin numbers are present on the left and right inner fenders and documented with a Deluxe Marti Report. The BOSS 9 is considered by many as the Holy Grail of Mustangs and the only Ford made with Semi-Hemi Motor. Do not miss this opportunity to add this Grabber Blue, documented, BOSS 429 to your collection.
