Aflac's philanthropic efforts in our community can be seen in four areas: health, education, youth, and the arts.
From contributing to the John B. Amos Cancer Center to helping underwrite the creation of a new library, Aflac is a vital part of the Columbus, Georgia, community. Aflac supports the American Cancer Society (ACS) by raising thousands of dollars each year through events such as Relay For Life.
Aflac and our employees are involved in many philanthropic organizations throughout our community, including:
- Columbus State University
- Easter Seals
- Habitat for Humanity
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
- Christmas is for Kids
- United Way
- Boys and Girls Clubs
The Aflac Cares program recognizes employees for their volunteer efforts in the community. We award a Volunteer of the Month for the time an employee chooses to spend helping their specific charity of choice. In addition, we present a Volunteer of the Year Award during Employee Appreciation Week, and the winner receives a cash donation to the agency of their choice in their honor. The following organizations are recognized for volunteer hours: Aflac Cancer Center, all United Way Agencies, American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and Easter Seals.
