Star Wars Death Star gets fruity

Sometimes we can’t exactly explain why people do the things they do, but hats off to them anyway when they come up with interesting Star Wars inspired edible artwork such as this.

It would appear that the head blogger over at kuriositas loves Star Wars and also loves to play with his food. Seeing that fruit like watermelons and cantaloupes remind him of the Empire’s most powerful weapon, he decided to take things one step further and carved a few to look more like the Death Star.

Sure, they aren’t as cool as Star Wars inspired pumpkin art, but the watermelon looks pretty awesome. Just be careful if you decide to create a Death Star Watermelon of your very own for your next Star Wars themed picnic. As evil as the Galactic Empire is, your Death Star Watermelon could very likely blow-up your potato salad.
