Lodge Bonaparte is named after arguably the most influential man of the 18th century. Napoleon founded the Bank of France, reformed the tax system, restored the church, improved the education system and in 1804 assumed the hereditary title of Emperor of France.

His Masonic membership has been hotly debated. Much of this debate stems from the residual hostilities between the Anglo and Franco Masonic institutions. What is known is that his Egyptian campaign opened the doors of the west to the awesome mysteries of ancient Egypt for the very first time. Esoterically, this accomplishment cannot be overstated.

What is speculated is that Napoleon was initiated into Loge Isis Rite of Misriam in Cairo in 1799. What is known is that Napoleon was a friend to the Craft, allowing once again the active formation of Masonic lodges within the French empire.

Many Bonaparte's went on to become very influential in the Rite's of Misraim and Memphis. Not only in France but throughout Europe.

It is Napoleon's tremendous tenacity, brilliant mind and uncompromising will that we emulate. We are proud to have him as our lodge symbol and we feel he is the perfect representation of the goals we wish to achieve.
