1) Cheerleading
“i have been cheering for 9 years now and every single year i have gotten hurt. i get punched in the mouth(with braces) and i get stepped on all the time. the past year i was at a comp and i did a backhandspring and i hipperecstined my elbow. we placed 2nd and then 4 weeks later was regonals. the week before the comp i got the cast off. i was lucky because my doctor said if i didnt go see her i would never beable to do sports again. cheerleading is my world and i will do anything do be on a team. that is why i think cheerleading is the most dangerous sport!”
“well... I’m on a squad with 19 girls and at least 1 half of them get hurt... every practice! so those of you saying gymnaqstics is harder, cheerleading is gymnastics with yelling and stunt. (fun! ) so don’t even think that any other sport is harder!”
“yeahh, I want to see you try it.
mhm and thats what I thought.. youre too scared. haaa”

“I have ridden for 6 years now and I’m 11 years old. I’ve fallen off 25 times and I still ride! PLEASE football and soccer are SO eazy! THINKK THINKK please you slip and twist your ankle oh my god I hurt myself. SCARY look up horse racing accidents on youtube and its the saddest thing. Consider before you vote soccer/ football!
MY cousin plays soccer and she hasnt got hurt once! GOD I almost broke my back when I was 7! And I got back on and jumped the fence again! GEEZ!”
“You people really need to think before you say football. OMG you got hurt and sprained your ankle. I nearly Broke my back when I was 7 and my instructor made me do the jump again! And you people who voted for soccer, please think. You are waering shin gaurds. WE wear helmets. Ok REALLY is soccer that dangerous. Oh my god, you slipped and twisted your ankle. Im so sorry to you soccer lovers, but HBR is WAY more dangerous. You try contoling a 1,200 lb. animal who dosen’t like you. HBR makes football look like a piece of cake. I cheerlead too, but HBR is way more dangerous.
I was at a horse show and my friedn was in green horse with her horse, Montzelle. And this lady Dianna was in it too. and her horse reared up, spooked, and threw her. She had to have surgury and still isn’t recovered.
We Horseback rider put our lives o the line daily for something we love. Please think before you vote soccer.”
“People need to stop viewing equestrianism based on their one-time safe, organized trail ride on a dead broke old horse, or their cute little experience at horse camp as kids where, once again, they went on safe, organized rides on dead broke horses. True equestrianism is very dangerous and intense, and it is not limited down to one or two cute little disciplines like pony-rides or racing (which seems to be all anyone outside of the horse world ever acknowledges, though pony-rides, obviously, don’t count worth a dime). Show Jumpers run courses over six foot fences. If their posture is incorrect for just a second, there’s a long way down. If they don’t set their horse up right for take-off before the jump, they could get thrown off (sometimes into the jump) by a quick refusal. Then there’s always the horse tripping, or its legs giving in around the course. People train for years upon years for this, taking lessons several times a week - it’s a very complicated discipline, just like most other disciplines associated with equestrianism. Barrel Racers gallop at full speed around barrels, making turns so sharp they’re almost parallel to the ground. And looking outside of just specific competitive disciplines, they are on the back of a living creature! In other words, they’re unpredictable and have a mind of their own, and that goes double for a lot of temperamental show horses. Every rider knows that no matter how good they are, they’re going to taste the ground every once in awhile because their horse will throw them off without a doubt. Hospitalization and breaking bones happens all the time. I could go on and on, but I shouldn’t. Bottom line is, everything about horseback riding is dangerous. Everything. You could be digging your grave just by approaching a horse the wrong way (specifically in a manner that scares it). Actually look into equestrianism and you’d be pretty freaking surprised.”

3) Lacrosse
“Okay listen, let’s back it up and think about the concept of lacrosse. In lacrosse you have a whole bunch of huge crazy guys running around with 6ft metal sticks trying to hit you in the stomach. You have no shin padding ( which are very vulnerable), no neck padding. All the pads are as light as possible. Lacrosse also involves a large rubber ball being flung at 90 miles per hour at you. Another point: the reason lacrosse has less deaths and injuries is because it has less people playing. Cheerleading has a gazillion girls playing and it’s all year round so you guys need to stop puting up all these hissy fits; I don’t horseback riding but I definitely agree that’s it’s one of the most dangerous sports, propably more so than lacrosse. Another thingis that, surprisingly, nobodys recorded the amount of deaths strangely enough.
Bottom line: lacrosse is hazardous and very very dangerous
Botoo”
“If that ball hits you it hurts. Period.”
“ha the balls are like 2lb and get thrown up to 90 mph”

4) Gymnastics
“I did gymnastics for 13 yrs. I had 2 compressed vertebras, a broken tailbone, broken toes and fingers, torn tendons in ankels and seperated shoulder. I was level 9 when I went to High school and would have gotten to Nationals in Uneven Bars if I hadn’t had done the vertebra issue. It is the most dangerous sport!”
“I was in gymnastics for 9 years and had many minor injuries, but also had some serious ones. Such a difficult sport, and super dangerous. When I was 14, I fractured my wrist so badly that they thought they were going to have to amputate it from my elbow down. Luckily, I managed to go through 3 emercency surgeries and come out of my 4 day hospital stay with my arm! I know a lady who had to have both knee caps replaced, due to all the damage from gymnastics over the years. I have weak wrists and knees now, but I’d do it all over again if I could! I recommend this sport for males and females. It teaches you discipline, balance, flexibility, coordination, team work, etc. It is demanding, but well worth it.”
“gymnastics can be dangerous but it can also be fun. I broke my shoulder and got back up and did the trick again.”

5) Bull Riding
“Cheerleading, lacross and horseback riding more dangerous than bull riding? Who is doing this list, the members of the Havard Country Club?
There is no sport more dangerous than bull riding. Did anyone see the story they did on HBO’s "Real Sports? " Bull riders suffer one "significant injury" for every 15 events. The bull rider they interviewed listed his injures which included several concussions, 11 surgeries, broken wrists, collar bones, legs, arms, numerous ribs, and several fractures to his face when a bull stomped on his nose! (I don’t remember all of them, but it rivaled the injuries of Evil Kenevil. (sp? ))
My niece rode horse (competition jumping) from 7 years old to 17 and never suffered anything more than a bruise.

6) Soccer
“soccer is really dangerous. all you have is shin guards which don’t even give you much protection it still hurts extremely bad to be knocked in the shin. slide tackling is extremley dangerous and so are headers. soccer should at least be number 3 on the list.”
“go on youtube and you can find a lot of soccer deaths mostly from cardiac arrest. its one of the saddest things ever”
“Soccer is dangerous because you only have shin guards for protection”

7) Motocross
“I race motorcross and I can asure that it is ten times harder then the most unwatched sport ever, Cheerleading! cheer leading I could learn in a couple months I can already do backflips on 300 pound kawi I’m pretty sure its not that hard to do a few backflips and twists.”
“motocross is very dangerous but how can people even who voted for this say that Horseback riding is not dangerous.. your on huge animals with a mind of their own are you kidding me.. at least with motocross you are in somewhat control of the bike altho it is very intense I think that horseback riding, rugbee, and motocross are some of the most dangerous no doubt”
“either motorcross or bull riding. how would horse back riding be all that dangerous?”

8) Hockey
“First of all, in hockey you slam people into walls. What could be more fun and dangerous at the same time.”
“haha, "i’m the best hockey player in the state... first year pee wee. "
anyways, hockey should definitely be ahead of lacrosse. hockey is a lifestyle, lacrosse is just what hockey players do in the off season.”
“fights

9) Football
“I play football and I’ve gotten injuries so many times like severe sprain ankle and wrist. Even practices are really hard. So football aleast should be number 1 instead of cheerleading. U cheerleaders try to run full speed through people it ain’t easy at all!. Ive seen people get plown ever by other people. Im a runner so I know the feeling of getting tackled really hard. After games I’ve have bruises all over the place.”
“in this game you get hurt almost every time when something goes wrong you get hurt”
“I have played football for 6 years. In that time I have broken my arm 3 times broken 2 legs had numerous concussions 2 of them so severe I didn’t remember the hit. It is by far the most dangerous sport. Why else do they give so much padding”

10) Rugby League
“Cheerleading cmon seriously, that also goes for soccer and horsy riding! Are you guys wimps or sumthin? Rugby league is true sport, full of big hits, season ending injuries and a lot of claret! My list- Rugby league, grid iron, aussie rules, any motorsport, lacrosse, hockey, rugby union, golf, boxing, lawn bowls.
”
“LOLZ at Malorian, I agree, Soccer? Cheerleading? those are self inflicted injury sports. Soccer is so gay, they milk penalties like 6 year old girls. Cheerleading well, if your gonna get thrown around and no1 catches you, thats your teams fault. Soccer players need to harden the f*** up! Imagine them playing in a R/League game, they wouldn’t call fowl, theyd call 911! League is a rough game, but you get over the tackles and get on with the game. High tackles around the neck can be deadly, and yes your team mates can’t protect physically, they just want you to pass the ball to them, and carry on with the game. If you get smashed in a play, the game carries on and time will only be called if it is an illegal move. Great game to play/ watch. Only real men play this sport, the younger you play, the better you are at taking the hits. But the professional players are rugged as they come, nearly every player has a list of injuries theyve had in the past.”
“God, this list is pathetic. SOCCER IS NUMBER SIX!?!?!?! Are you kidding me? The only way people get hurt in soccer is if they dive incorrectly and end up twisting an ankle... oh NO!
I don’t exactly like playing or watching rugby, but I know for a fact it is tougher than soccer. It is basically football... with no pads. So:
rugby>soccer
rugby>football
rugby>lacrosse
rugby>hockey
rugby>gymnastics (people aren’t trying to kill you in gymnastics or cheerleading)
rugby>cheerleading
rugby>bull riding (it’s only for 8 seconds! )
rugby>horseback riding: you have to be more specific. Racing, I can understand. Anything else, no. Even in racing, though the injures are almost sure to happen and be terrible if you fall off... if you fall off. So don’t fall off.”
