After a lot of thoughts, after talking to many people about the immediate needs in Haiti, we all came to realize that a hospital would be the best way to go. I'm proud to announce that I, the NHLPA and World Vision are teaming up to build a hospital in Haiti. I'm extremely proud that the hockey community, which includes NHL players and the fans are uniting to donate to World Vision to make significant contributions towards this cause. I will work with many radio stations to fundraise for our fund. And if you have any ideas and want to partner up with us to help, please email me, there's also a link below that you can donate too that will strictly go to our project to build that hospital. So please, watch the news, go on CNN and find out the latest developments. The images will break your heart and motivate you to give even more. Let's help these poor people rebuild their nation. Dear friends, I'm asking for your help. For once, let's forget about sports, hobbies or contests. As you probably all know by now, Haiti was hit by a massive earthquake, a tragedy where it is estimated close to a 150,000 people have perished and one out of 10 Port-au-Prince residents has lost their home. Haiti is, to start, one of the poorest countries in the world. So, this catastrophe makes things really complicated. My parents were born there and I still have family there. Most of them are safe, but I’m still waiting to hear from some of them. I'm not writing this to make you feel sorry for me, but to open up your heart to these people that need our help. This is your chance to do something big to help a nation rebuild itself. Even a $5 donation can go a long way. God is watching us at this challenging moment. Let’s all do our part to make this part of world better. A lot of you have been asking me for ways to help or WHERE TO SEND MONEY.
