Tales of Monkey Island coming to the Mac. iPad version imminent?

Telltale Games' popular episodic adventure series based on the LucasArts point and click franchise looks likely to be announced for the Mac at the MacWorld Expo, fueling further speculation that it may come to iPad too.

Telltale's episodic adventure game series include Sam & Max, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventures, and of course the popular Tales of Monkey Island. Available for the PC and Wii for some time, it's looking highly likely that Tales will be announced for the Mac at the MacWorld Expo in San Francisco on February 9. Given the common platform that Telltale uses for its games, this news is fueling speculation in two areas. The first, and more obvious, is that all of the company's franchises will be making the shift Mac-ward, and the second that this is an overture toward eventually developing for the iPad and iPhone. Telltale confirmed their presence at MacWorld (and here they are on the exhibition map, below) and a representative confirmed that "announcements" would be made.

As a long-time Mac user I'm glad they're finally porting all of this stuff, but I have to say that the idea of playing these games on iPad sounds pretty awesome. They're the perfect kinds of games for that device. They seem cagey on the subject right now, but I have to think it's only a matter of time (or Apple announcing spectacular sales numbers for the iPad!)

Agreed! If we're going to get more stuff like these point and click adventures optimized for iPad, I'm definitely on board. Let's hope Telltale announces more than just Mac versions at MacWorld.
